The Yellowstone Co-Op Employee Recreation Program (YCERP) began in 1958 as a grassroots employee recreation cooperative in Yellowstone National Park.  It was a unique concept then and is still today.  Now we are the largest and most diverse employee recreation program in any national park.  Today we are a cooperative effort among the following entities within Yellowstone:

  • The National Park Service
  • Yellowstone Forever
  • Yellowstone National Park Lodges operated by Xanterra Parks & Resorts
  • Yellowstone Park Service Stations
  • Yellowstone General Stores operated by Delaware North, Inc.
  • STGi at Yellowstone

Throughout the year we offer a wide range of services and programs that connect Yellowstone employees to each other and to the park itself.  There are so many ways to enjoy Yellowstone when you live and work here! Hit the trail with a group hike; learn about wolves or bears at an educational seminar; meet other employees at bingo or big screen movie night; join a league sports team or hop in a pickup game; register for the 100 Mile Hiking Club; take a trip to a gateway town to enjoy Western culture or to stock up on supplies; whitewater raft; canoe; kayak; sightsee; wildlife watch. . . the list goes on and on!

Our recreation facilities give employees spaces to exercise, play sports, read a book, or socialize and relax.  Each facility is unique.  Indoor facilities include weight rooms, sports courts, and multiuse areas that contain lending libraries and ping pong and pool tables.  Outdoor facilities include basketball and volleyball courts, softball fields, and disc golf courses.

Recreation offices located in Mammoth Hot Springs, Old Faithful, Grant Village, Lake Village, and Canyon Village host our programs.  Employees can visit location offices to sign up for trips, register for the 100 Mile Hiking Club, purchase staff items, rent backpacking equipment, read our maps or guide books, and to checkout board games and athletic equipment.

For scheduled event information visit Activity Calendars.  Pages nested under Programs and Services give in-depth information about some of our most popular offerings.
